Whether you use a spotting scope or binoculars, obtaining the right optics according to your ocular needs enables you to further enhance your eye’s ability to view the wonderful world of nature. Dr. Chevy Lee, local ophthalmologist, will discuss how our eyes see through binoculars, different kinds of binoculars, and how to choose the best optics for birding, hunting, and nature photography.

A valley native, Dr. Lee studied medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and worked in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Opthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Opthalmology, and past president of the Texas Opthalmological Association. Dr. Lee has been in private practice in McAllen for the past 31 years.

Friday Night with a Naturalist (FNWN) is a monthly series where some of the best naturalists and nature enthusiasts in the Rio Grande Valley present on a variety of topics. FNWN is on the third Friday of each month. Program and admission are FREE! Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended!
