Nature Tram Tour

If you have every wanted to join in on a Nature Walk at Estero, but limited mobility held you back we have the tour for you. Animals, plants, insects and some natural history will make this a tour you won’t forget. Our new Electric Trams seating is limited for a journey around the diverse habitat of our park so call ahead to reserve your spot Is Sunday is a bad day for you? Bird Walk

Where: Estero Llano Grande State Park Weslaco, TX

Let our knowledgeable park naturalist guide you on a birding adventure to identify some of the 250 plus birds that have been sighted at Estero Llano Grande State Park. You’ll enjoy a walk along our boardwalks through the wetlands and get an up close and personal look as some of the amazing shorebirds, herons, egrets, waterfowl and woodland birds that reside in the park. Walk will be at a modest pace over flat terrain – pick the length you’d like to cover – either one mile or two and a half miles. Call for more information 956-565-3919

Join a park naturalist and observe the amazing dragonflies and damselflies that are attracted to the park’s wetlands. Some species that can be seen in South Texas occur nowhere else in the US. Butterfly Walks

Bensten Nature Riders

When: Sat, June 25, 9am – 11am

Where: Bentsen – Rio Grande Valley State Park

Ride along with the park’s biologist and learn about the latest wildlife sightings, nature phenomena, and get a chance to see some of Bentsen’s wildlife. This is an easy ride on paved or dirt roads. Length of ride is approximately 5 miles.

The Pillowman

McAllen’s Thirteen O’Clock Theater will put on “The Pillowman,” a 2003 work by Irish playwright Martin McDonagh. It tells the story of an author facing interrogation due to the gruesome content of his short stories.

Charlie Palacios and Jonathan Torres of Thirteen O’ Clock Theater will direct.
